Su-Ju Lu, PhD

Prof. Lu obtained her PhD from School of Architecture, University of Sheffield and MA in interior design, Manchester Metropolitan University in UK. She joined Department of Digital Technology Design, National Taipei University of Education in 2009, became Professor in 2013.

Prof. Lu has been engaged in the research of children’s learning through physical manipulation of digital contents. She emphasized that learning is achieved as a constructive and interactive playing activity rather than as a passive receiving process.
 
She has been implemented and developed numerous children learning kits or prototypes in the areas of natural science, culture, and nutrition education encompassing a wide range of digital technology including interactive media, Augmented Reality, smart mobile devices, and 3D printing technology. She paid equal attention to teaching and research over the years, excelled in the field of cross-disciplinary research. She has continuously received national research grants for over ten years. Some of the results have published in internationally renowned academic journals and international conferences.

In terms of academic and professional service, Prof. Lu has also served as an important professional reviewer for numerous important design contests, Golden Tripod Awards, Government Scholarship to Study Abroad, e-Learning Courseware Certification, and research projects from the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. She has also served as academic journals and conferences paper reviewer at home and abroad and reviewer for public/private universities faculty promotion evaluations.
